We focus on a clean, non-destructive workflow (adjustment layers, smart objects) and introduce AI features for ideation and speed—without losing quality or control.

What you’ll learn

  • Selections & masking – Object/Select Subject, channels, Refine Edge, hair/complex edges.
  • Layers & non-destructive editing – adjustment layers, masks, blend modes, smart objects.
  • Retouching workflow – healing/clone, frequency separation (light), dodge & burn, skin tones.
  • Compositing – scale/perspective, shadows/highlights, color matching between elements.
  • Color & tone – Curves/Levels, HSL, Camera Raw filter, basics for consistent looks.
  • AI assists – safe use cases for ideation/cleanup (e.g. background expand/fill), with quality checks.
  • Export – for web (sizes, compression), and print basics (resolution, color intent).

  • You’ll learn repeatable habits that keep your files tidy and editable.

What you’ll make

  • You’ll complete a small before/after retouch and a 2–3 image composite:
  • Layered .PSD with masks and adjustment layers
  • Final web exports (JPG/PNG/WebP) and a print-ready version
  • A short process note for your portfolio
